This premill doctrine denies Christ's coronation as King with a global dominion reward in Daniel 7 and the proof of His dominion power evidenced at Pentecost. It also truncates that Gospel to the realm of the self, rather than its initial global import, i.e every nation. 1 Corinthians 15 says that He must reign until all enemies are put under His feet...THEN the end comes. cf 1 Cor 15:24-25Rev. Carlson chronicled a variety of individual's attempts to offer a alternative socio-economic paths throughout the 20th Century, alternatives to either Capitalism, Communism, or Socialism as we generally know them. It seems all failed on the whole. I could not help but notice that none of the individuals offered alternatives that were visibly rooted in God's Word. I like your line: "Redeem the root and you redeem the fruit." This is precisely where they failed.Doughttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02307545059751759647noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6741168687907825502.post-5482886765125709882013-02-16T19:46:45.400-08:002013-02-16T19:46:45.400-08:00Thank you. I recently completed Separation of Church and State in Virginia:<br />a Study in the Development of the Revolution (pub. 1910, available as a free Google e-book). The book documents the process of disestablishment in early Virginia, where official Church of England pastors were ultimately kicked off state support. While I am confident the intentions of Jefferson and Madison were good, nevertheless, the newly created market environment for the church eventually led to the breakdown of sound doctrine, due to a dearth of preachers that trusted in the providence of God. Preaching largely began trying to please a paying audience. We have never recovered, and the market environment for preachers of God's Word still exists. May the Lord humble us and teach us, “man does not live by bread alone, but man lives by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God.”Doughttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02307545059751759647noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6741168687907825502.post-2553359309868119422011-08-07T11:58:47.412-07:002011-08-07T11:58:47.412-07:00I especially appreciate this article as it relates...I especially appreciate this article as it relates God's Law and authority over the individual, especially to libertarianism, which seems to mirror theonomy very much in terms of accurately identifying the myriad problems of the totalitarian state, but unlike theonomy seeks remedies in the absolutizing of the individual rather than absolutizing the Lord God of every sphere of jurisdiction.LibertyUnderGodhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06864096961946703799noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6741168687907825502.post-87072495008862292762011-04-22T22:11:03.272-07:002011-04-22T22:11:03.272-07:00Amen to your strategy!
